Bharat Sarkar ke Consumer Affairs Department ne 27 August 2026 ko Legal Metrology (Indian Standard Time) Rules, 2026 ko notify kiya.
In rules ke tahat Indian Standard Time yani IST ko desh mein legal, administrative, commercial aur anya official activities ke liye common time reference banane ki vyavastha ki gayi hai.
Iska ek bada purpose ye ensure karna hai ki alag-alag digital aur technical systems time ke liye alag-alag references par depend na karein aur important activities mein use hone wale time-stamps zyada consistent aur reliable hon.
One Nation, One Time’ ka matlab kya hai
One Nation, One Time’ ka simple meaning hai ki desh bhar mein important official aur technical systems ke liye ek common Indian time reference ka use kiya jaye
India pehle se hi IST follow karta hai. Isliye ye samajhna important hai ki naya rule desh mein koi naya time introduce nahi kar raha hai.

Ye network extremely accurate time ko digital network ke through secure way mein distribute karne ki capability ko demonstrate karta hai.
Government information ke according is network ko Department of Consumer Affairs, CSIR-NPL aur ISRO ke collaboration se develop kiya gaya hai.
